Our 2023 Highlights

2023 has been quite the year for team UC, and the engagement industry as a whole.

Amongst ongoing uncertainty and disruption, we've helped some of the world’s biggest telcos, airlines and financial institutions, navigate change and inspire their people. We’ve hosted and spoken at over a dozen different events, launched our latest Work Remastered research, brought you insight from a plethora of interesting individuals in UC Voices, and have been featured in more than 15 industry leading publications.

We kicked off the year at Flexpo, diving into the world of flexible working. Early spring was spent between London and Dublin planning a highly immersive and interactive leadership event for Bank of Ireland’s 3000 people managers, deep diving into their values and strategy and equipping them to engage their teams.

We supported JP Morgan Chase to evolve its multi-year strategic programme, POWERUP. Designed to empower teams to put new ways of thinking and working into action and supercharge its culture of continuous learning, we refreshed the look and feel of the experience for 2023. All before we welcomed friends old and new to our first client dinner of the year along with new team member, Ally.

In the background,  we were busy interviewing and surveying people in the UK and the US for our annual Work Remastered research which was published in June. The sun shone for our launch event, and we were joined by engagement, comms and HR folks from many different industries for an insightful morning exploring the future of the world of work. A big thank you to our speakers Marcelle Foxcroft, Jennifer Thomas and Chloe Hayward and moderator extraordinaire, Jo Gallagher.

We were also delighted to pick up an award for our work with Santander at the annual Internal Communications and Engagement awards.

Early summer saw the culmination of months of in-depth co-creation as we delivered an entirely new behavioural framework for a pan-European airline. This was followed later in the year with an experiential event for their 400-strong leadership community in which we used various workshop techniques from creative visioning and role play to mini hackathons and psychological safety deep dives to bring their new behaviours to life.

We celebrated our fourth birthday in July and spent an insightful evening withSimon Sinek and Steven Bartlett in London. We were proud to help to dramatically enhance the digital employee experience at Jupiter AssetManagement through a complete redesign of its intranet. We refreshed the look and feel of the company’s internal content, creating a more contemporary, user-friendly experience and radically simplified the approach to content creation, including refreshing how the organisation’s vision and strategy were communicated. This gave us a great platform to launch an engaging and compelling benefits campaign later in the year.

InAutumn we helped AT&T reinvigorate their onboarding experience for their frontline teams through the development of impactful film content, a continuation of our work with the company to launch its purpose internally. And supported JPMorgan’s continued journey to ready themselves for the future with their annualDEVUP conference in Texas.

We were also delighted to deliver our first piece of work for a new client, Vixio Regulatory Intelligence. Our bespoke workshop designed especially for its leadership team helped them to develop a north star, refine its strategy, and power up the business for its next exciting chapter.

Another get-together and networking dinner with clients and friends of UC in September set us up for a flurry of autumn events. We welcomed people from across the world to our latest series of UC Sessions and spoke at conferences in London and Amsterdam, all whilst managing to squeeze in a trip to visit our US clients in New York.

Our days at Working Futures and the Internal Comms Conference in November meant we spent the last of the year building new connections, learning more about the challenges facing big businesses across the UK and Europe today, and setting ourselves up for various new year projects. We also launched our one-day storytelling workshop, a bespoke and more in-depth version of which we’re running in February with new clients The Access Group.

We’re so proud of the work we’ve delivered this year and are grateful to all the collaborators and clients that have made it possible.

Bring on 2024!
